Deadly Tornadoes Again Rampage Through Tennessee
Thousands Displaced, Power Outages Linger After Storm System
Nashville, Tenn. — Tennessee officials are assessing the damage after tornadoes and strong thunderstorms roared across the state Saturday, leaving thousands of residents displaced and facing prolonged power outages.
Lord, Please Don't Let Me Die
In the town of Hermitage, just outside of Nashville, resident Sharon Jay Powell Scott Broden huddled in her basement as the tornado sirens wailed. As the storm raged outside, she prayed for her life, her words echoing the desperate pleas of countless others caught in the clutches of the deadly twisters.
"Lord, please don't let me die," she whispered, her voice trembling with fear.
Broden's prayers were answered as the tornado passed over her home without causing significant damage. But she was not as fortunate as many others in Tennessee, where the storm system left a swath of destruction.
